Hi, I've encountered a problem where if any error occurs when you try to create a new calendar event (I.e. Thunderbird cannot connect to the CalDav server), it will give you an error pop-up and discard everything you have input.

Losing work like this is extremely annoying and I think what should happen when an error occurs is that Thunderbird would go back to the event creation popup, preserving everything that was input into it, and let you try to create the event again (perhaps save it into a different calendar).

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask about this but it was the most easily accessible place I could find.

This happened in Thunderbird desktop version 138.

I have used Thunderbird and its diary for years, and make extensive use of reminders in the diary (my memory is not what it once was!). Latterly, when deleting or postponing a reminder, Thunderbird goes into "not responding" mode for many seconds or even some minutes.

I have Thunderbird linked to both my gmail and my protonmail email accounts. If I look at Task Manager when Thunderbird goes unresponsive it seems to be the connection with protonmail that is the problem - see the attached screenshot.

Help, please

I set up a CardDAV addressbook link to my iCloud addressbook. Everything is fine, and syncing works great. After ~2 days, it stops working and I have to generate a new app-specific password, delete my addressbook, and re-establish a new link with the new app-specific password. I tried to turn on CardDAV login, but nothing it written to the logs.

Has anyone run into this problem and how do I go about troubleshooting it?

I can't close TB. It is frozen in the midst of trying to compact files. This is the error message:

"Compact folders (Not responding) Thunderbird needs to do regular file maintenance to improve the performance of your mail folders. This will recover 685 MB of disk space without changing your messages. To let Thunderbird do this automatically in the future without asking, check the box below before choosing ‘Compact now’."

My husband and I had the same problem with our laptops not loading emails, saying it doesn't have sufficient file space. I fixed his by deleting a lot of files and then compacting the remainder. BUT - this isn't working for mine. In the process of trying to compact files, it froze and I can't figure out a way to close it and try again.

Any help appreciated! Thanks.

I synchronize my Thunderbird Address Books (Windows PC) via the Radicale server with an Android phone with DAVx5. From Thunderbird to Android, sync works correct. New items and changes show up on Android. But from Android to Thunderbird, nothing syncs. From Android to the Radicale server, all seems well, because the changes show up in the Radicale collection, as show when you download the .vcs file.

So the problem seems between Radicale and Thunderbird. Can someone please help to debug this problem? E.g. is there a log of Thunderbird for the sync of the addressbook?

Thanks!

Hi, This seemingly simple feature to export all selected emails into single PDF, including attachments doesn't seem to be included. there are many situations where one would want to make a one file summary of a longer conversation to share with others, including clickable signatures. I only see shady plugins which don't work... can't this be core functionality? Thanks!
